Panaji: Power minister Ramkrishna Dhavalikar said the government hasnât withdrawn or stopped the subsidy for electric vehicles but halted it âtemporarilyâ.Within the next two weeks Rs 5.5 crore worth subsidies will be distributed to more than 200 eligible beneficiaries who purchased electric vehicles and applied for the scheme before it was discontinued, he said, attributing the reason for temporary stoppage of subsidy to the governmentâs lack of funds.âWhy give all electric cars subsidies? If someone is purchasing an EV worth Rs 50 lakh or Rs 25 lakh why do they need a subsidy of Rs 3 lakh,â he said. TNN
